Nursing Services & Training
Comprising half of all EHA healthcare professionals, our nurses are vital in organizing and applying health activities at the front-line.
A Year of Two Themes:
Perseverance & Accomplishment
It is difficult to narrate our recent history without acknowledging the unfortunate backdrop of COVID-19. The pandemic took its toll on many people and affected families. Yet, EHA nursing provided a supportive environment for every nurse to perform professionally.
We express our deepest gratitude to the nursing professionals who worked tirelessly, thoughtfully, and committedly through every wave—saving lives, providing comfort in the face of death, and educating the public about protective measures.

Programs & Initiatives
Advancing clinical excellence through education and global partnerships.
Neonatal Survival Training (NeST)
Presently in India, prematurity (35%) and neonatal infections (33%) are leading causes of newborn death. Supported by EHA Canada, NeST equips health personnel to dramatically reduce the Neonatal Mortality Rate.
"Our goal is that all healthcare workers in EHA hospitals possess the knowledge and skills to manage neonatal problems, serving as leaders in training private and government facilities around us."
Global Perspective
We maintain excellent relationships with EHA USA, EHA Canada, DVN-VIAA (Netherlands), HITS (New Zealand), and Dignity Health USA. We actively engage with these partners to learn from their technical and healthcare system leadership.
Service & Education Integration
Implementing the Dual role model: qualified faculty from nursing schools contribute to clinical fields, while senior hospital staff train and supervise student nurses, elevating overall health quality.
Continuous Education (CNE)
Regular CNE sessions and workshops empower nurse leaders, stimulate learning, and prepare our teams to face the challenges of rapid technological changes in healthcare.
NABH Accreditation
As the most vital resource of our healthcare system, we continuously improve our nurses' knowledge of NABH standards to ensure commitment to quality care and maximum patient safety.
Opportunities & Challenges
Upgrading Education
Following new government directives for a single-entry level in India, there is a pressing need to upgrade our Nursing Schools to Colleges of Nursing to meet the revised National Health Policy standards.
Retention & Workload
We face recruitment and retention challenges amidst increasing workloads and post-pandemic demands. Retaining skilled staff is critical for sustainable healthcare.
Specialized Training
To provide services fit for the future, we must prepare specialized nurses by encouraging post-basic diploma courses, extending and expanding the nursing role.
Leadership Empowerment
We are committed to planning yearly workshops to bring about transformation in nursing education and practices by actively empowering our nursing leaders.
Conclusion
We wish to extend our gratitude to all sponsors and donors from India and around the world for their gracious contributions. We also thank the Executive Director, Regional Directors, and the entire EHA central team for their ongoing support and prayers.
Finally, we acknowledge God's provision and the continued support to the EHA nursing department.
